Rules and Regulations of the 2010 Kayak Tour
Section 1 (Medical/ fitness)
1.0 - Participants should be covered by a personal accident insurance.
1.1 - Participants should have a doctor’s certificate allowing the participant to take part in endurance activities.
1.2 – Participants should all know how to swim well and remount their sea kayaks in adverse conditions.
Section 2 and 3 (On the sea)
2.0 - Participants must follow the guide’s orders/ paddle signals / signals while on the Tour.
2.1 – Any misconduct or failure to follow the guides/ organizers instructions will lead to expulsion of the tour.
2.2 -Trips will be carried out even under rain and strong winds unless the leading guide decides to cancel.
2.3 - The leading guide should not be overtaken.
2.4- Participants must follow the guides at all times and not make any beach stops without asking permission.
2.5- Participants are not allowed to divert from the route of the tour.
2.6- Respect fishermen and pass out of their fishing space approximately 5 meters.
2.7- Personal floating devices must be worn at all times when on the kayaks.
2.8 – Keep right (starboard) when passing other vessels or when head-on approach of a boat.
2.9 – Give way to vessels approaching from the right.
3.0 – Passes and narrow passages, rocks and guides instructions should be signaled to other participants.
3.1 - Hatches should be closed tightly while navigating.
3.2 – When snorkeling kayaks should be tied in a row behind each other.
3.3 – When snorkeling paddles should be placed on the kayaks and Pfd’s attached to the craft.
3.4 – Group formation must be respected when entering delicate passes and passages.
3.5 – Participants should stay on the right of leading guide when paddling along the reef outside the lagoon and on his left inside the lagoon.
3.6 – Cell phones are to be used only for safety reasons during the trip.
Section 4 (Equipment and logistics)
4.0 – Participants should have all the required accessories and wear a life jacket at all times during the tour.
